…You Should Know Who Lois Maxwell Is
1. Moneypenny. Jane Moneypenny. Appearing in 14 Bond films between 1962 and 1985, Maxwell played M’s secretary to flirtatious perfection and may have been the only woman to resist Bond’s suave rake. According to the movie “You Only Live Twice”, Miss Moneypenny holds the rank of Second Officer in the Women’s Royal Navy Service.

3. Born in Kitchener, Ontario, in 1927, Maxwell lied about her age in order to enroll in the Canadian military as an entertainer.
4. Appearing beside Shirley Temple in That Hagen Girl in 1947, she won a Golden Globe for Best Newcomer. Aside from Bond movies, she appeared sporadically in films, only to leave it all behind due to the Hollywood grind and being typecast as Bond’s sexual foil.
