….the NFL Playoffs Are So Exciting

1. With only 16 games on the regular-season schedule, every pre-playoff game is so important. You make a few bad decisions that cost a couple of games, and you could find yourself watching from the sidelines when the playoffs come around.
2. Only 12 of the 32 NFL teams make the playoffs, which means even a good team such as the Cleveland Browns, who finished with a 10-6 record, can miss the playoffs. Sure, you can get a near-.500 team in the post-season (e.g. Washington Redskins) but they usually don’t last too long.
3. The playoffs are a knock-out tournament. You lose, you go home; you win, you get to play next week - no second or third chances like you get in hockey, baseball and basketball.
4. It ends with the Super Bowl, probably the world’s biggest sporting spectacle (apologies to soccer/World Cup fans). With more than 100,000 fans attending the game, and millions watching on TV, it’s an amazing way to end the NFL season.
