…You Should Travel Alone To Somewhere Foreign

January 17th, 2008 Posted in Other Stuff

1. Travelling alone pushes you boundaries. “Foreign” doesn’t have to mean a different country, just some place that is foreign to you. It could be travel within your own country to a place you have never been before or somewhere distant.

2. It forces you to experience new cultures, which can often open you eyes and bring a new level of understanding to your own environment - be it your city, country or the world in general. We live in a world highlighted by difference and crossing barriers can benefit us all.

3. It can help you to learn new things.

4. It can be fun and, while you have to take on some risk, adventurous! We all need to have some excitement in our lives, particularly if it is something unusual or out of the ordinary.

5. You never know who you will meet, what will happen or what doors it may open. The person sitting next to you on the train, or the person who helps you find your way, or the shopkeeper who shows you the local delicacies to sample - all may open a world that you otherwise may never have known.
