….I Love Pancakes
1. They’re super easy and quick to make, especially if you cheat and use the ready-made mix that just requires water.
2. You get to pour stuff such as maple syrup, whipped cream and fruit on them. In fact, you’re encouraged to slather pancakes with whatever you want.
3. Essentially, it’s dessert for breakfast. Think about it, how much nutrition can be contained in a food that involves some flour, perhaps an egg, some milk and an awful lot of sugar? You combine a pile of slapjacks with a couple cups of coffee, and you’re good to go until at least late-morning when you may run into a bad sugar low.
4. Kids will happily eat them there are no worries about getting them to have breakfast. This is a huge issue if you’ve ever tried to convince a child to eat oatmeal, cereal, toast or anything that smacks of being good for you. Of course, the reason that children love pancakes has everything to do with reason #3.
5. They’re cheap. I figure a stack of pancakes probably costs 10 cents, dramatically below the 50 cents you’ll pay for an organic egg.

Guys, those are some great reasons but what about waffles? I mean, pancakes are delicious but waffles definitely trump pancakes for every single one of your reasons.

We have nothing against waffles other than you need to use a waffle maker/pan to make those little syrup-holding squares.

Pancakes are a surefire hit with kids, especially if you load ‘em up with fresh strawberries or soak ‘em in syrup. But those frozen microwave pancakes are good only for skipping across the pond. (Maybe the fish will eat ‘em.)
