1. If variety is the spice of life, a buffet is very, well spicy with food to serve nearly every palate - whether you’re one of those red-blood loving carnivores or a eco-friendly vegan.

2. It’s all you can eat for one price, excluding any adult beverages you want to consume. If there’s two things people like, it’s a flat rate and food that keeps on coming.

3. If given the chance, we’re food gluttons happy to leave no late unfinished.. People can’t help themselves when food is so abundantly and readily accessible. In general, people have very little self-discipline when it comes to food, which, to some extent, may explain why nearly one billion people around the world are over-weight.

4. Where else are you going to find Jello with swirly dabs of whip cream on top?

According to 10Best, the best buffet in Las Vegas (which is probably the centre of the universe for buffet lovers) is the Cravings Buffet at the Mirage Hotel. Here’s the description: “Take a seat in this brightly decorated, mirrored room with a plate piled high from the superb buffet. International cooking shows play on flat-screen TVs scattered around the dining area, encouraging you to sample some of the global fare offered at the buffet’s thirteen chef stations. Dim sum, rotisserie chicken, a raw bar, and an assortment of carved meats are just a few of the many tasty options.”
